Academic Resources

Academic Advisors

All Undergraduate and Graduate students are assigned an Academic Advisor, a member of the faculty in the College of Architecture. Your advisor is your primary resource for academic questions and for course selection each semester.

Student Organizations

The College of Architecture has several very active student organizations that are chapters of national professional organizations. Chapter activities and events range from professional development panels, to social events, to office visits, tours, conferences and guest lectures. Follow the CoA student organizations on Instagram to keep informed about their activities and learn how to join.

National Organization of Minority Architecture Students

The National Organization of Minority Architecture Students (NOMAS) is organized to operate exclusively for charitable, scientific, social and educational purposes, including, but not limited to, the following:

To foster communication and fellowship among minority architecture students. Whereas the activities are geared towards these ethnic minority groups, membership and activities are open to anyone who believes in and supports the goals, by-laws, and spirit of NOMAS.

To act as a clearinghouse for information on and for minority architecture students.

Career Resources

Our strong partnerships with employers, alumni, faculty, and other university stakeholders ensure the career readiness of our students. In addition to the University’s significant career advising resources, the College maintains an Assistant Dean for Professional Development to work directly with architecture students. Additionally, our strong partnerships with employers, alumni, faculty, and other university stakeholders support student career-readiness. Our vision is to be the hub for career education, career development, and professional experience.

The College of Architecture hosts regular informational sessions and panels on professional topics such as the architectural licensing process. The College works with Career Services to support the architecture Career Fair each semester and disseminates information about job opportunities through the CoA Opportunities Google Group (open to all current students and alumni of the College of Architecture). Approval is needed to join the Google Group.
