Welcome to the College of Architecture at IIT. Our 5-year Bachelor of Architecture is a NAAB-accredited professional degree that satisfies the academic requirement for architectural licensure, putting you on the path to becoming a licensed architect.
Schedule a Visit
Whether you are beginning your college search, are in the process of applying, or are making your decision, we invite you to visit us and learn more about our program. General campus visits as well as architecture-specific visits can be scheduled through Undergraduate Admissions.
If you would like to meet with an architecture professor, tour Crown Hall and our fantastic model shop, or sit in on an architecture studio, be sure to request these specific opportunities through the Admissions form. We recommend scheduling visits on a Monday, Wednesday or Friday afternoon to experience the design studios in session (fall and spring semesters). Undergraduate Admissions also organizes Admissions events throughout the year.

These live virtual events give you the opportunity to hear first hand from our friendly admission counselors, professors and staff, you will also get the opportunity to ask them your queries. Whether you are looking to start your college journey or transferring from another college, IIT has a virtual event for you.
Portfolio Requirements
First-Year Applicants
First-year applicants are not required to submit a portfolio. However, if you have visual work from art, architecture or other related classes, you may attach a portfolio to your Common App application at the time that it is submitted. Portfolios may also be submitted separately by emailing them to ugaprocessing@iit.edu for attachment to your application.
Scholarships
Illinois Tech has several competitive scholarship programs that are open to undergraduate students. All domestic undergraduate first-year and transfer students are automatically considered for scholarships that cover a generous portion of expenses such as tuition.
Crown Scholarship
If you are a first-year domestic applicant and have a body of creative work, consider applying for the Crown Scholarship, the College of Architecture’s prestigious five-year full-tuition scholarship that recognizes a student’s creativity, academic excellence and potential in the field. Applications must be made by the Early Decision or Early Action deadlines.
Additional Funding
Additional funding available for incoming students through IIT Architecture are merit-based scholarships. Current students are eligible for Spring Awards which are tuition scholarships and travel fellowships open to both graduate and undergraduate students.

Application to the Bachelor of Architecture is through Undergraduate Admissions. Applications for academic year 2025 are now open. Post February 1, 2025 we are accepting applications on a case-by-case basis only for Fall 2025.
