Experiment in Architecture
Experiment in Architecture is a two-week long workshop designed to introduce high school students to the profession of architecture through firm visits, field trips and exercise based studio practice. The studio program provides a comprehensive overview of the study and practice of architecture, and will help students in making informed decisions about pursuing an education and career in architecture.
Through iterative exercises and in-depth seminars, students are immersed in design-oriented thinking that introduces them to architectural terms, concepts, and forms of visual representation—all the while building towards a final portfolio. Students engage in daily discussions with practitioners and faculty, complete design charrettes through hand drafting and 2D/3D modeling software, and are exposed to design critiques and formal reviews.
The program is available with residential and commuter options and is designed for high school students in grades 9 through 12.
