Professor of Practice
Since 2005, Paul Endres has served as a Professor in Practice at the College of Architecture, specializing in the integration of complex three-dimensional structures in architectural design and structural engineering. He established his own nationally recognized Architectural and Structural design practice endreStudio in 1994, in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Paul teaches intuitive design and a visual approach to structural design graduating from UC Berkeley with master’s degrees in Environmental Design and Structural Engineering. In addition to over thirty awards at the national and state level, Paul Endres’ work has been honored with multiple Structural Engineers Association of Northern California awards, AIA Honor Award for Efficiency Integration, numerous AIA East Bay/San Francisco Exceptional Residence Awards, and the AIA Pittsburgh Award of Excellence in the Open Plan Category for the West End Pedestrian Bridge Competition and an ACSA Creative Achievement Award in 2012, National Council of Structural Engineers Association Award of excellence in 2013, In 2014, 2019 the American Institute of Steel Construction IDEAS2 Award and 2021 Arthur G Hayden Medal, Eugene C. Figg Medal International Bridge Conference.
He is the author of two books, 36 Stairs and the forthcoming Avuos, and has been featured in over forty esteemed national and international publications.
