Associate Teaching Professor
Alphonso Peluso, an alumnus of Illinois Tech's College of Architecture, rejoined the institution in 2006, bringing a profound understanding of its values and a dedication to nurturing the next generation of architects. His teaching philosophy seamlessly integrates academic rigor, hands-on exploration, and the incorporation of cutting-edge technologies to equip students with essential computational and fabrication skills for success in the architectural field.
Alphonso's approach to teaching is characterized by the creation of a dynamic learning environment. In both undergraduate and graduate courses, he actively involves students in modeling course topics. Students appreciate this immersive learning style, fostering a deep understanding of concepts and preparing them for the challenges of professional practice. One of his key actions in the classroom is to set his students up for success.
Alphonso's dedication to advancing the learning experience extends beyond the classroom. He actively contributes to Instagram, TikTok and a YouTube channel, where he creates content that complements classroom teachings. These networks serve as a valuable resource for students, offering them an opportunity for continuous learning outside traditional class hours. His network has reached a global audience of more than 50 countries, providing exposure to Illinois Tech and introducing thousands of students to the institution.
